Scam Alert: Email Impersonating ETC

Some residential email users have reported receiving the following message that wasn’t sent by ETC:
Dear etczone Subscriber,
We are currently carrying-out a maintenance process to your
etczone account, to complete this process you must reply to
this email immediately, and enter your
E-mail address: (……………..)
and Password: (……………..)
If you are the rightful owner of this account.This process we help us to
fight against spam mails.Failure to summit your password, will render
your email address in-active from our database.
You can also confirm your email address by logging into your etczone
NOTE: You will be send a password reset message in next seven (7)
working days after undergoing this process for security reasons.

We never send out system emails that ask you to reply with your password. Also, it states a password reset message will be sent in the next 7 days, so be aware that this may be followed up with a scam email in the next 7 days that will ask you to click on a link that doesn’t actually direct you to ETC.
