2013 ETC Scholarship Applications Now Available

Enhanced Telecommunications Corporation (ETC) is committed to helping the youth within the communities we serve reach their academic goals by awarding $4,500 in scholarships to local area high school seniors annually. Applications are now available for the 2013 ETC and national FRED Scholarships. Seniors who have completed at least two years of schooling or any home schooled student of senior status living within the school districts of Batesville High School, Oldenburg Academy, East Central High School, Jac-Cen-Del High School, Milan High School, Greensburg High School, North Decatur High School, Union County High School and Franklin County High School are eligible to apply.

The annual ETC scholarships are awarded to students who exemplify an outstanding demeanor towards academic performance, volunteer work, community service, and hometown pride. ETC's scholarship application deadline is April 8, 2013.

ETC also sponsors four local high school seniors for the FRED (Foundation for Rural Education and Development) Scholarship, awarded to rural America's best and brightest students. FRED Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are awarded to more than 50 students across America annually. This national scholarship is available to any senior student that resides in or attends a local high school within the ETC service territory, and is nominated by ETC through a nomination letter which will accompany the scholarship application.

Students must either be planning or currently attending an accredited college, university or trade/vocational school. Academically strong, active students with extra-curricular activities and community volunteerism are encouraged to apply. ETC may only nominate a maximum of four students, therefore the strongest candidates and/or those applying first will have precedence as decided by ETC should more than 4 students express interest in the FRED scholarship. FRED applications are due to ETC by January 31, 2013.

Students interested in applying for the ETC or FRED Scholarship can pick up an application from their school's guidance department, visit their local ETC office to request one, or simply download the application below. All scholarship applications are to be submitted to Anita Fledderman, ETC Marketing Manager, by mailing them to PO Box 145, Sunman, IN 47041 by the deadline listed above.
